20 books banned

LAHORE: For implementation of the National Action Plan and on the recommendation of Muttahida Ulema Baord, the Punjab Home Department has banned twenty books containing hate material, The News has learnt.
According to documents available with The News, the Punjab government, under Section 99-A Cr PC 1898, has placed a complete ban and decided every copy of the books to be forfeited, wherever found in the open market, stores , shops etc. The Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home, directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police to take penal action against the offenders and managers of printing presses in accordance with the provision of Pakistan Penal Code or any other law relating to Press and Publication for the time being in force under intimation to the department
